all nine lives are precious...

t MEOW we believe that our organization is truly driven by compassion: the compassion of our staff, volunteers, adopters, veterinary partners, and supporters. With all of us working together, we are able to pass on that compassion and make a difference in the lives of companion animals in need.

This year, on #GivingTuesday, we are asking you, our community, to come together again to pass on your compassion and to truly make a difference.
Last year our amazing supporters raised just over $50,000 on #GivingTuesday, which helped sustain our Ninth Life, Public Spay/Neuter Voucher, IRS programs, our Mercy Fund, and support the daily needs of the animals in our care. For example, our expected expense this year of our Public Spay/Neuter Voucher Program, which provides vouchers for no-cost spay or neuter surgeries for the animals of people in need of support to do the right thing, will be about $30,000 (about 500 surgeries). By year end, we expect that approximately 25 cats in our care will have needed and received dentals, which relieve significant mouth pain and improve overall health, at a cost of about $25,000.
Throughout the day we will be providing updates on donation matches available and amounts raised as well as sharing stories of compassion on Facebook and Instagram.
Thank you for sharing our passion and our compassion.

Your donation today will provide critical funds to provide comfort and care to those who need us most and give our rescues the happily furever after they deserve. You may direct your donation to our Ninth Life Division Program, our Mercy Fund, our Canine Division, our Public Spay/Neuter Program, or you may leave it up to us to put it to use where it is needed most. Wherever you direct your gift, you will be saving lives.

If a one-time donation isn't a good fit for you right now, we encourage you to become a recurring donor and spread your gift out over the year. Recurring donations are a great way to lessen the impact of a gift on your expenses by spreading it out. Recurring donations provide an additional safety net each month which allows us to continue to provide critical care and comfort to our residents, and help our community do the right thing for their pets, all moving us towards a day of no more homeless pets.

Our Ninth Life Division supports cats who have little hope of being adopted due to advanced age or significant health issues. These cats are placed in long term foster homes where they will be cared for and cherished for as long as they have left with us. Ninth Life cats may be adopted into well qualified and committed homes, but if they never have that opportunity, they'll continue to be safe, loved, and cared for in their Ninth Life Division foster home.

Our Mercy Fund provides critical funds for animals in need of emergency or specialized veterinary care.

Our Canine Division serves as breed rescue for Chinese Shar Pei for all of Washington, Oregon & Idaho. We also rescue Great Danes, hairless breeds and all other dogs as space permits. The dogs are lovingly cared for in foster homes while they undergo whatever medical treatments are needed to bring them to their best, happiest, healthiest lives and ready for their forever homes.

Our Public Spay/Neuter Program provides access to no-cost spay or neuter services to the pets of members of our community who need help to "do the right thing". Since the program's inception, we have funded over 5000 alter surgeries.

Where it's needed most: As is the case with so many businesses and organizations, today's environment has meant that our expenses for food, supplies and veterinary care are higher than in the past. We rely on donations to provide funds for shelter and medical care. We are primarily a volunteer organization with minimal paid staff. We do not shy away from animals in need of extra care and we're often able to find forever homes for animals with special needs. Our motto, "all nine lives are precious" is woven into our mission statement, engraved on the hearts of our staff, volunteers and supporters, and serves as a daily reminder of our commitment and our compassion.

Our goal is to help create a "no-kill nation", where people lovingly take responsibility for their pets; where every pet born will be assured loving care all of its natural life and will never suffer due to abuse, neglect or ignorance and the companion animal population is controlled by spay/neuter, not euthanasia.
